Our Sham Shui Po Foodie Tour would not have been successful without your participation and support. Over the last five years, we have witnessed the slow transformation of Sham Shui Po. Two of our six original tasting locations shut down. While it was sad to see these shops close, it is exciting to see a wide variety of other new restaurants popping up in the area, reinforcing Sham Shui Po as a Foodie heaven. It has given us opportunities to discover and experience other amazing family-run eateries that serve truly artisanal foods on our Foodie Tour. What’s even more exciting to see is the cafe serving pineapple buns and the tofu dessert shop expanding to other neighborhoods in Hong Kong, bringing delicious foods to locals and visitors in other areas!
The old, working-class neighborhood of Sham Shui Po has become more ready to welcome visitors. Back in 2013, it was difficult to find English menus in any restaurant in the area. Nowadays, they are available at some locations, making it less intimidating for non-Chinese speakers. Many of our participants on the Foodie Tour can attest that the Sham Shui Po community is extremely sincere and friendly.
